Connection: Yesterday we learned that an author crafts specific words to convey his or her perspective and tone. Through language the author adds new layer or meaning to the text.
Teaching: Remember reader’s pay attention to the specific word choice an author uses in a text to communicate their tone. [ie. Onomatopoiea, similes, compare/contrast, personification, repetition, etc.]
