Activator: SCAN/PREVIEW Analyze 2 images [of a bar graph and statistics] that represent the ethnic breakdown of Oscar winners and number of tweets about The Oscars. This is in connection to the “Who Wins the Oscars?” article provided by 8th grade math and complete the Noticing and Thinking graphic organizer [Box 1] Purpose:  They are to simply “notice” and record (2 minutes) ASK:  What do you see?
