On MONDAY:
-Students began a new program called D.G.P. - Daily Grammar Practice. We read through the MONDAY - Parts of Speech notes. We completed the Monday Warm UP for D.G.P. Week 1.
-Students completed Unit 1: "Treasure of Lemon Brown" Vocab Quiz
-We read as a class Ch. 3 of The Giver
On TUESDAY:
-Students continued the new program called D.G.P. - Daily Grammar Practice. We read through the TUESDAY - SENTENCE PARTS notes. We completed the Tuesday Warm UP for D.G.P. Week 1.
-Students completed The Giver Chapter 3: Citing the BEST Textual Evidence Worksheet
On WEDNESDAY:
-Students continued the new program called D.G.P. - Daily Grammar Practice. We read through the WEDNESDAY - CLAUSES/SENTENCE TYPES notes. We completed the Wednesday Warm UP for D.G.P. Week 1.
-We read aloud as a class, Ch. 4 of The Giver w/ Quickwrite [2 paragraphs]
On THURSDAY:
-Students continued the new program called D.G.P. - Daily Grammar Practice. We read through the THURSDAY - CAPITALIZATION/PUNCTUATION notes. We completed the Thursday Warm UP for D.G.P. Week 1.
-Students completed The Giver Ch. 4 Quickwrite [2 paragraphs] and turned it in.
-We reviewed grades on Utopia vs Dystopia Mini Poster, and grades on Unit 1 Vocab Quiz.
- Students stapled together The Giver Worksheet Ch. 1 - Citing Textual Evidence and The Giver Worksheet Ch. 3 - Citing the Best Textual Evidence, and turned it in for a grade.
-Students read Ch. 5 of The Giver, focusing on SETTING - What are the rules, how would they apply to our real world?
On FRIDAY:
-Students continued the new program called D.G.P. - Daily Grammar Practice. We read through the FRIDAY - SENTENCE DIAGRAMMING notes. We completed the Friday Warm UP for D.G.P. Week 1.
-Students read Ch. 6 of The Giver, focusing on SETTING - What are the rules, how would they apply to our real world?
-Students completed a T-Chart of 10 rules within THE COMMUNITY in THE GIVER and how they impact the plot.
-Students read Ch. 7 of The Giver, focusing on SETTING - What are the rules, how would they apply to our real world?
